As NGWA member I am receiving regularly Groundwater journal and in May-Jun issue I have found one excellent paper about use of GIS and modeling techniques in hydrogeology. The name of the paper is:

Assessment of Managed Aquifer Recharge Site Suitability Using a GIS and Modeling by Tess A. Russo, Andrew T. Fisher, and Brian S. Lockwood

Reading this paper will show you why it is beneficial to learn GIS and groundwater modeling. We are offering ON LINE courses for ArcGis and QGIS, you will need only 7 hours to spend and more about this course you can find if you click here
